I put this Palos Verdes Seniors Resource page together to help folks over 65 with information that highlights benefits. Now while I may claim all the altruism in the world as a motive for doing this, for reasons of full and transparent disclosure, I’m about 3 years away from that age bracket so let’s call this page a bit of preparation and sharing of information at the same time.
The first resource I found was the Palos Verdes Seniors website called Peninsula Seniors. There lecture series is terrific
The Palos Verdes Peninsula Village is a great resource for learning about successful aging in America and in fact that’s part of their mission statement
The state of California has a website devoted to Palos Verdes Seniors (well Seniors from all over the state actually) and you can access it here
H.E.L.P. (Healthcare and Elder Law Programs Corporation) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering older adults and their families by providing impartial information, education and counseling on elder care, law, finances and consumer protection so they may lead lives with security and dignity
PVE Cares is a program for Palos Verdes Seniors pioneered by Chief John Eberhard and I strongly urge you to learn more about it
One of the most fabulous people I’ve met who works in the Palos Verdes Seniors community is Barbara Farmer. She’s with Empower Care whose mission is to bring stable, independent and dignified living to the most vulnerable populations in our healthcare system. The aim is to bridge the gaps in an evolving and constantly increasing complicated system through holistic services. Barbara acts as trust advisor, elder care coach, advocate, and is one of most caring people I know. I’ve seen her work on a couple of occasions.
The city of Rancho Palos Verdes has information handy for Palos Verdes Seniors including the Dial-a-Ride program
The CA Assisted Living Guide examines the best facilities in your area, provides tips for finding the right fit, and answers some frequently asked questions. It was developed to help families and caregivers find the best facility to fit their specific needs. I thought this would be a great supplement to the senior resources listed on that page. The guide is also available to use and share at no cost
This site will continually evolve and if you’ve got some good tips to share on resources for Palos Verdes Seniors, please leave a comment and/or contact me.
