How is the Corona Virus Affecting Palos Verdes Real Estate Market Trends
January 16th, 2021
I ran into a friend of mine that I’ve know for years who happens to serve our community in the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department. Steve is a Sergeant and he sent me the below letter that I’ve decided to take action on and share with you. Won’t you please consider a donation
Every year hundreds of law enforcement officers are killed in the line of duty in this great nation of ours. Over nineteen thousand names now line the walls of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Nineteen of those names are South Bay police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Though they can never be replaced, the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial (NLEOM) allows for the memories of these officers to live on and honors these brave men and women forever. The Police Unity Tour Incorporated was formed in 1997 by a group of law enforcement officers from the state of New Jersey who rode their bicycles from Florham Park, New Jersey to Washington, D.C. Over the years, police officers from across the country have joined these officers to ride the 250 mile trip for the sole purpose of raising awareness for the NLEOM and lending financial support. Since its inception, the Police Unity Tour has grown from eighteen original members to over nineteen hundred members nationwide who will be making this year’s trip. Because of the Police Unity Tour’s efforts, nearly sixteen million dollars has been donated to the Memorial, making the Police Unity Tour incorporated the largest single donor to the NLEOM.
On May 8-16, 2015, I will again have the honor of representing the Palos Verdes Estates Police Department in this year’s Police Unity Tour along with over three hundred team riders and support personnel from local Southern California law enforcement agencies. Our primary goal is to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Each officer is required to raise a minimum of $1,850.00 to make the trip. The Tour begins on May 10th with a sendoff ceremony in Somerset, New Jersey and will conclude in Washington, D.C. on May 12th. An arrival ceremony will be held at the Memorial following the ride and a check will be presented to the director of the NLEOM from each chapter. A candlelight vigil will be held the following evening to honor the fallen officers and their survivors.
The Police Unity Tour Incorporated is proud of its accomplishments. You can be too, knowing that you are contributing to this worthy cause. With your help, the Police Unity Tour Incorporated will continue to be the largest supporter of the Memorial. Members of the United States Congress, who wanted to recognize the service and sacrifice of all law enforcement officers throughout the United States, founded the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in 1983. The Memorial was dedicated in 1991 and includes the names of all law enforcement officers who have died in the line of duty.
The Police Unity Tour Incorporated is a non-profit organization under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code. Donations are tax deductible and can be made either by check or via Pay Pal in my name utilizing the website: www.socalput.com (tax identification number is 22-3530541).
On behalf of all the law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty, I want to thank you for your consideration for sponsorship. Please feel welcome to print out this letter here and write a check for your donation on the form and do share this post on your social media links!
Respectfully yours,
Sergeant
